US requirements

In the aftermath of the 9/11 disaster, the US Customs & Excise had a thorough review of security standards at their ports. Amongst other changes, this review made mandatory the sealing of all containers entering the US – either empty or fully loaded.

The current requirement is that all containers entering the US be sealed with a seal that conforms to ISO PAS 17712:2013 and is C-TPAT compliant.

Security & Cargo Seals Limited stock Bolt and Cable seals that comply with this standard.

C&E changes within Irish Meat sector

Customs & Excise in Ireland no longer supplies security seals to companies operating in the Meat or other Industries.

Security & Cargo Seals Limited is an alternative source for these products. We already supply many companies in all sectors with both metal and plastic seals.

What are security cargo seals?

Security seals are locking mechanisms used to seal various containers in a way that provides tamper evidence and some level of security.

Such seals can help to detect theft or contamination, either accidental or deliberate.

Security seals are commonly used to secure truck trailers, vessel containers, chemical drums, airline duty-free trolleys and utility meters and are used in a wide variety of other applications.

Typically they are considered an inexpensive way of providing tamper evidence of intrusion into sensitive spaces.
